Opera glasses (also known as Galilean binoculars) are compact, low optical magnification binoculars that were commonly used at operas and other performance events in the 18th and 19th Centuries. In order to minimize image shake while maintaining a large field of view, opera glasses typically had a magnification power below 5x.

These opera glasses are made of brass with leather accents. The optics and physical condition of this piece are excellent.
