The Victory Medal was a campaign medal of World War I. The overall design and ribbon were adopted by many of the Allied nations in accordance with the decision of the Inter-Allied Peace Conference at Versailles. Interestingly, all nations dated the war between 1914 and 1918, except for the British Empire, which used the dates 1914 to 1919.
This World War I British victory medal is in excellent condition. The obverse depicts the winged figure of victory, while the reverse reads, "The Great War for Civilisation, 1914-1919."
