This marvelous, antique human skull has a stunning, aged patina. The calvarium is cut and secured with pins and hooks, and the mandible is articulated loosely on springs. The orbits and nasal cavity are in excellent condition. Most of the dentition is present, though many of the teeth are chipped. There are a few cracks in the calvarium, which were glued back together at some point in time. This specimen used to be part of a fully articulated skeleton at one point, as evidenced by the small hole in the top of the calvarium. A unique characteristic of this skull is that it has a persistent metopic suture; a feature that is typically only found in infants and children, but will occasionally persist into adulthood in rare cases. This beautiful specimen has a captivating appearance, and would make a wonderful addition to any collection.
