This extraordinary medical specimen has some stunning and uncommon features. This skull exhibits positional plagiocephaly, which is a condition characterized by the asymmetrical distortion of the skull. This skull has quite a severe case, and is most obvious when looking at the skull from the top-down. This piece features a cut calvarium, which is secured with pins and hooks, and an articulated mandible on springs. All of the dentition is present, and in excellent condition aside from a single chipped tooth. The orbits are perfectly preserved, and the nasal cavity is in excellent condition. There is a small gash in the right side of the maxilla, however, this appears to have been caused by trauma ante-mortem, as it shows signs of healing. This stunning specimen has an incredibly unique appearance, and is quite robust. It would be an outstanding addition to any collection, and would be perfect for anatomical reference and study.
