This gorgeous, antique medical skull is quite stunning and features many cut-outs and openings that reveal the intricate structures of the human skull. This skull comes from a child, around 9 years old. All of the muscle groups and labels have been meticulously and skillfully painted by hand. The dentition is in excellent condition overall. The orbits and nasal cavity are extremely well-preserved. The calvarium is cut and secured with pins and hooks, while the mandible has been articulated on springs. Upon removal of the calvarium, the blood vessels can be seen within. Next, the skull can be opened along the sagittal plane, revealing even more delicate and attractive details that are normally impossible to see on an uncut skull. This impressive specimen would make a phenomenal display piece in any collection and would serve as an invaluable reference for medical study.
