This phenomenal specimen is a striking example of the effects of syphilis, which is mostly present on the frontal bone. This skull comes from the collection of Dr. Federico Oloriz Aguilera (1855-1912). He had a large, world-renowned collection of skulls with various pathologies and unique characteristics. On the left side of the skull, the original hand-written notes are still visible. These notes would typically consist of location of birth and death, age, and a notation for either male or female. This stunning specimen is exceptionally rare, and is in exquisite condition. This skull would make a perfect centerpiece to any medical collection, and is an invaluable tool for reference and study.
