The Dayak are a headhunting tribe from Borneo of Indonesia. They are well known for their carved "Trophy Skulls," which were taken from their enemies. These skulls were used to denote the status of warriors and their families in their community. They would often symbolize valorous deeds, wealth, and social status.

This carved Dayak trophy skull is in excellent condition with a gorgeous, aged patina. This specimen has two shells in the eye sockets, as well as two boar tusks that have been attached with rattan lashings. The carvings on this skull are incredibly beautiful. This skull would be a phenomenal display piece in any collection.
