This real human skull was modified to be used for dental training purposes, and is known as an X-Ray Phantom. The lever on top allows the mandible to be adjusted, so that a dental student can open and close the jaw for holding bite wings while performing x-rays. The skull has been filled to provide a realistic weight and accurate x-rays, simulating real tissue. It comes with the custom-made, turned wood base, which is removable. This amazing specimen is incredibly rare, and would make a phenomenal addition to any medical collection.
